Spacious Classic Cabin Retreat- near Lassen

Overview

Classic winter retreat for an extended family or multiple families. Three common areas make it easy to spread out - read a book in the living room by the propane fireplace, play games in the dining area or play upstairs in the lounging room with mini-pool and a closet full of kids costumes. Take a snowshoe hike or go sledding across the street. A true escape to focus on family and friends without TV or wi-fi.
Mill Creek is a small community of former US Forest Service cabins only 15 minutes from the entrance to Lassen National Park.

This is our family cabin that we happen to rent out when we aren’t here. It is filled with games, puzzles, books, snow clothes, snow shoes, extra food, drinks and a full medicine cabinet. Our kitchen is completely stocked. We leave baking and cooking supplies and ingredients here for ourselves, but feel free to use what you need. The fridge and freezer are yours to use. You can also leave an ice chest outside the sliding glass doors in the kitchen for extra space.

There are four sleeping areas and bedding is provided. Downstairs there is a master bedroom with attached bathroom with bathtub & shower, one bedroom upstairs with queen bed and a door, the other two bedrooms upstairs are loft style and do not have doors. One loft area has a queen and two full size beds. The other includes two twins that can be pushed together for a couple. There is an additional bathroom with a bathtub/shower off the living room.

There is a washer and dryer for your use. There is a bluetooth speaker in the dining room to play music off your cell phone.

Occasionally during a storm, the electricity can go out. We now have a propane generator that can run the fireplace for heat if this happens.

If there is snow on the ground, we recommend you arrive while it is still light out. You will need to park across the street and carry your belongings to the cabin which is approximately 30 yards off the street.

The nearest gas is in Chester, 25 minutes away. We recommend you have plenty of gas before you leave Chico or Red Bluff to head up the mountain.

There is limited cell phone reception in this area. AT&T and Verizon LTE are usually, but not always, good from this location. There is a phone in the bedroom that uses AT&T cell. Feel free to use it for domestic calls.

Staying in a cabin like this can be a little extra work at times, but is worth the effort!
